Stop wondering, people. If it’s not a Hell YES — it’s a no.

I no longer say yes to people, projects or purchases without this.

I was out shopping with Michael when I saw a quirky dress I had considered buying. I lingered by it, gazing at it with a smile. I turned to Michael and said, “I’ve been wondering if I should get this dress.”

Michael glanced at it and said, “Well, you can stop wondering,” and gave it a throat-slashing gesture.

He had a point, not to mention some solid fashion sense.

We laughed over his comment that day for many years, but it stuck with me because the concept behind it applies to so many parts of my life.

First, wondering is rarely a good sign.

If you are waffling or confused or can’t decide if something (or someone) is right for you, guess what? It is probably going to end up being a no.

In fact, if it isn’t a HELL YES, then it’s a no.

If you have to wonder where you stand with someone, it’s not going to end in marriage. If you have to wonder if you can advance at the company you work for, you probably don’t have a great future there.
